As a lot of you may know, our Petrol Station and Convenience Store in Connor Downs near Hayle is currently undergoing renovations. Unfortunately, this has taken longer than was originally expected due to supplier complications. However, all will be revealed soon!
History of Dover Service Station
Connor Downs Petrol Station and Convenience Store got its name, ‘Dover Service Station’, from the original owner of the business who was from Dover. In April 1992 Roger and Sue Thomas purchased the site and opened it in August 1992. Previously, they owned their first site in Fraddam, which they purchased in 1970. This site was also a petrol station and shop along with a vehicle workshop onsite. When they purchased Dover Service Station they also built a vehicle workshop onsite, now known as Thomas Auto Tec. Thomas Auto Tec is run by Roger and Sue Thomas’ son Mark Thomas and his wife.
About the re-opening of Dover Service Station
After many years Roger and Sue Thomas would like to take a well deserved back seat and upon the re-opening of Dover Service Station their son Mark Thomas and his wife Nina Thomas will now be running the business. Below are some photos of what the interior of the convenience store currently looks like. After 28 years, due to various complications we have made the decision to go with a different supplier and this will be revealed very soon!
